Kyle Dingwall Battles to Hard Fought Top Ten Finish at Brockville Speedway Season Opener; Brockville and Cornwall Coming Up Next

After winning the 2012 track championship at Brockville Speedway, Kyle Dingwall had all winter to bask in the glory of one of his most prolific accomplishments of his racing career. It was back to business this past Saturday night though, as Brockville Speedway opened their doors for the 2013 campaign, and Dingwall return to begin another season and try to defend the championship crown.

Dingwall started his qualifying heat race from the back of the pack, due to redrawing a high number coming through the pit gate. He didn’t stay there long though, battling his way up to a third place finish. After making some adjustment to the car, Kyle was ready to start his first feature of the season. He rolled off the starting grid from the 11th starting spot, but spun trying to avoid another car, and had to restart from the rear. He battled back though, and used the same never give up attitude that earned him the 2012 championship, and finished the night with a top ten finish, crossing the line in eighth place. The top ten result on Saturday night continues Kyle’s streak of top tens at Brockville, which lasted throughout the entire 2012 season, and was the only driver to accomplish that feat last season.

This coming weekend, Kyle will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and will return to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night for their season opening night, consisting of a 100 lap 358 Modified Mr. DIRTcar Series event/Canadian National Series race.

Kyle Dingwall would like to thank all of his sponsors for the 2013 season. Kyle Dingwall Set to Defend 2012 Brockville Ontario Speedway Track Championship; Fan Fair Coming Up This Weekend at Brockville Walmart

After winning the 2012 Brockville Speedway track championship, Kyle Dingwall enters 2013 with high hopes. He was the only driver throughout the year to finish inside the top ten every single week during the season and when the green flag flies next month to start the 2013 campaign, Dingwall will be looking to continue that consistency at Brockville, and carry that same result into Cornwall Speedway. Make no mistake, the goals for Kyle Dingwall and the Dingwall Motorsports team are to capture the coveted championship once again….at both tracks.

Dingwall will have his car on display this Saturday, along with several other cars as part of the 2nd annual Brockville Ontario Speedway Fan Fair, which will be held at Walmart in Brockville from 10am to 1pm. The event will be the unofficial start to the new season, giving fans an opportunity to get an up close look at the 2013 cars, and the drivers. The event will also serve as a charity BBQ, raising money for CHEO (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario), and a live local band (Texas Tuxedos) will also be playing.

Kyle will hit the track for the first time in just a few short weeks, as Brockville Ontario Speedway opens for practice on Saturday, May 4th. The 2013 season opener is set for Saturday, May 11th. Cornwall Speedway will open the following weekend with a 100 lap Mr. DIRTcar/Canadian Nationals Series race on Sunday, May 19th.

Kyle Dingwall would like to thank all of his sponsors for the upcoming 2013 season. They include King Edward Auto Parts, McHaffie Flea Market, B&M Mechanical, C Double J Harvesting, Eastern Ontario Millwritting, Black Dog Lubricants, Toy Storage, ET Performance, Jeff’s Tree Service, Harland Veinottes Transportation, Fast Line Performance, Bicknell Racing Products and Dingwall Motorsports.

Kyle Dingwall 2012 Season in Review; Brockville Speedway 358 Modified Championship and a Pair of Feature Wins Top Dingwall’s Season

The 2012 racing season was a year of consistency for Kyle Dingwall.  After struggling the past few seasons he was back in 2012 with a brand new car and looking to get back on track.  He raced at Brockville and Cornwall Speedway weekly in 2012 and was a contender all season long at both places.

At Brockville Speedway, Dingwall was the only driver to end the season with top ten finishes in every race.  His two feature wins, combined with nine top fives and18 top tens in 18 starts at the track were enough to earn his first championship at Brockville Speedway since winning the Sportsman championship back in 2004.  The championship didn’t come easy, ending with just a two point advantage over the second place competitor.

Kyle had a solid season at Cornwall Speedway as well, posting several great finishes along the way.  He ended the season sixth overall in track points and finished sixth in the Canadian Nationals Series also.  He ended the season with two second place finishes and two third place finishes during the season.

“We had a great season.  After struggling the last few years, it has been frustrating at times, but to win the championship at Brockville with such a tough field of cars really makes it worthwhile”, says Dingwall.  “I really have to thank everyone that helps us out and supports us along the way”.

With the 2012 season now over, Kyle and the Dingwall Motorsports team are already looking ahead to 2013 and trying to make their program even better.  When the new season starts in May, Dingwall will be there ready to defend his track title at Brockville, and will be looking to match that accomplishment at Cornwall.

Kyle Dingwall Ends 2012 Season With Top Five Finish in Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series Race at Brockville Speedway

After a terrific 2012 regular season at Brockville Speedway, Kyle Dingwall returned to the track for one final time this season as they hosted the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals. Kyle raced on Saturday afternoon with the Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series. Dingwall was hoping for some home track advantage against some of the best Modified teams throughout the Northeast.

The 2012 Brockville Speedway champion started the day off well, timing fifth quick overall in time trials, placing him up front to start his qualifying heat race. Dingwall backed that up with a win, earning him a spot in the redraw for a top 10 starting spot in the 100 lap main event. Dingwall would draw the fifth starting spot and lined up on the inside of row three to start the race. In typical Dingwall fashion Kyle was consistent all race long, hovering in or near the top five. Tire wear became an issue in the closing laps, which brought out the caution several times during the final 10 laps, but Dingwall maintained his strong performance and ended the afternoon with a very solid fourth place finish.

“It was a good way to end the 2012 season”, says Dingwall after the race. “Of course, we would have liked to finished higher, but to finish in the top five behind guys like Danny Johnson and Billy Dunn is pretty big. I am really looking forward to coming back even stronger in 2013”.

This puts a wrap on the 2012 racing season for Dingwall Motorsports. Stay tuned to our website for any off-season news regarding our team. We look forward to seeing you all next year at the track.

Kyle Dingwall Scores Second Consecutive Top Ten Finish in Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series; Super DIRT Week is Next for Dingwall Motorsports

After grabbing a 10th place finish last weekend at Mohawk International Raceway, Kyle Dingwall was looking forward to racing the next round of the Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series as they made their inaugural appearance at Brighton Speedway during the track’s annual Applefest Weekend.  Although the 358 Modified division only races at the track once a year, Dingwall is very comfortable at the track, being one of only a handful of past winners at the track that entered this years race.  Dingwall won at Brighton in the very first Applefest Shootout back in September of 2005.

Dingwall began the night with a fifth place time trial speed in his group, placing him fifth to start his qualifying heat race.  Dingwall maintained that position throughout the race.  In the Benson’s Auto Parts 100 lap Applefest Shootout 358 Modified Mr. DIRTcar Series race, Dingwall started from the 15th position.  Avoiding a lap one crash, Dingwall patiently waited to make his move towards the front of the pack.  By lap 85 he was inside the top 10, and when the final caution on the night came two laps later, he had moved to ninth. When the race resumed Dingwall was able to pick up one more spot to finish with a strong eighth place result.

Dingwall will have the weekend off this week, and return to action next week as the Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series races at Cayuga County Fair Speedway on Wednesday, October 3rd and Rolling Wheels Raceway Park on Thursday, October 4th during Super DIRT Week.  The 2012 season will conclude at Brockville Speedway during the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals on October 13th and 14th.

Kyle Dingwall Gets Top 10 Finish in Mr. DIRTcar 358 Series Race at Mohawk International Raceway; Brighton Speedway Coming up Next

After a fantastic 2012 racing at Brockville Speedway and Cornwall Speedway weekly, Kyle Dingwall was looking forward to doing some traveling now that the regular season is over and he accomplished his goal of winning the 2012 Brockville Speedway track championship.  The first stop was Mohawk International Raceway on Saturday night for their 358 Modified Mr. DIRTcar Series race.

Kyle struggled in time trials, and finished his heat race in seventh place, putting him into the last change B-Main.  A fourth place finish put him into the race, but he would start from the rear of the 30 car field.  The dry slick track conditions made it tough to pass, but Dingwall patiently moved forward throughout the 75 lap race, and when the checkered flag flew, he was inside the top 10.

“It was a tough race, with no grip at all on the track”, says Dingwall.  “We saved our tires as much as possible and came home with at top ten finish”.

This coming weekend, Dingwall will be back in action at Brighton Speedway for their annual Applefest Weekend.  This year, the race is a 358 Modified Series race, and Kyle is looking forward to running with the Series again this week.

After Brighton, Kyle will have a week off, before heading to Syracuse to run the Super DIRT Week Satellite shows at Cayuga County Speedway and Rolling Wheels Raceway.  He will end the 2012 season at Brockville Speedway for the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals on October 13th and 14th.

Kyle Dingwall Crowned Brockville Speedway Track Champion After Second Place Finish at Brockville Speedway on Saturday Night

After a couple of really frustrating seasons for Kyle Dingwall, he has rebounded in a big way in 2012.  Entering the final night of the regular season at both Brockville and Cornwall Speedway, Dingwall had already captured two feature wins (at Brockville), and regardless of the outcome he would finish the year in the top five in points at both weekly tracks.  At Brockville, he entered the night with an eight point deficit, and was looking forward to the opportunity to race for his first ever BOS Speedway Modified title.

With a third place finish in his qualifying heat race at Brockville, Kyle trimmed a single point of his deficit, with the other championship contender finishing third in the next heat, the difference remained the same, and he would have to make up eight points in the battle for the championship going into the 30 lap main event.  Kyle lined up from the seventh position to start the feature, and quickly moved up through the field.  By lap ten, Kyle was up to third place, and while he was focused on his position on the track, he couldn’t help but wonder where the point leader was on the track.  When the race hit the halfway point, Dingwall was now up to second place, gaining four points as he battled his way towards the championship.  When the race ended, the suspense was building as Kyle wondered if his second place finish was enough to earn him the championship, and when the final totals were calculated, Kyle was the champion by just two points.

“The suspense at the end of the race waiting to hear if we won it or night was crazy”, admits Dingwall.  “I was trying to make the calculations, and I was looking at the scoreboard to make sure the 7 car wasn’t in the top five.  We really had a great season, and I have to thank everyone that has helped us along the way, all of our sponsors and the race fans that support us each week”.

With his first Brockville Speedway Modified championship secure, Dingwall began to prepare for Sunday night’s race at Cornwall Speedway.  It was a 125 lap 358 Modified DIRTcar Series/Canadian Nationals Series main event.  He qualified third fastest in his group in time trials, placing him on the inside of the second row for his heat race.  A second place finish put him into the redraw for a top 12 starting spot in the big race.  He selected position number two, and would fire from the outside of the front row.  After jumping out to the early lead, Kyle would fall to second on a lap 15 restart.  He would remain in the top five for most of the first segment, and when the race was stopped at lap 75 for the competition caution he was running strong inside the top five.  When the race resumed Kyle continued to battle amongst the top five, running in the fifth position as the race hit lap 100.  Just a few laps later, Dingwall moved his car off the racing surface and out of harm’s way when the drive shaft broke.

“We were having a really good run tonight, but the drive shaft broke just after the lap 100 mark”, says Dingwall after the race.  “It would have been great to finish out the season here at Cornwall on a better note, but overall we have had a great year, and we look forward to running some different tracks throughout the fall”.

Dingwall will have this weekend off, and will return to action on Saturday, September 15th with the Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series at Mohawk Raceway.  The following weekend he will be at Brighton Speedway, and then on to the Cayuga County Fair Speedway in Weedsport, New York on Wednesday, October 3rd.  He will close out the 2012 season at Brockville Speedway on Saturday, October 13th with the 1000 Islands RV Centre DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals.
