Kyle Dingwall Gets Top Five Finish at Brockville; Caught up in Early Race Incident at Cornwall Speedway’s Super DIRTcar Series Race

Fresh off his impressive win at Brockville Speedway just one week ago, Kyle Dingwall was anxious to get back to the track once again this week. The continued hot and humid temperatures would make for similar track conditions as last week, and Dingwall is always fast on the dry and slick racing surface. Dingwall was also looking forward to racing at Cornwall on Sunday as the Big Block Modifieds made their only visit of the season with their Super DIRTcar Series race.

After a third place finish in his qualifying heat race at Brockville, Kyle and his team began to prepare for the 30 lap main event. He started the race from outside of the seventh row in 14th place and quickly moved forward. By lap eight he was inside the top ten, and continued to advance through the field. With 18 laps complete, Kyle was in the top five and moved up one more position to fourth in the closing laps.

At Cornwall Speedway on Sunday, Dingwall struggled early against the Big Blocks, and was forced to qualify through the last chance B-main. Dingwall had his car working much better, taking the checkered flag in the 10 lap race. Starting from 19th, Kyle hoped that as the race went on his car would continue to get faster, but on lap 15 his night would end early with heavy front end damage after getting caught up in a wreck.

This coming weekend, Dingwall will return to Brockville Speedway on Saturday looking to get back to victory lane once again. He will also compete in a dash for cash on Saturday after the heat races. The 10 lap race will be lined up in order of votes on the Brockville Speedway website. We encourage everyone to go to brockvillespeedway.com to place your vote for Kyle Dingwall and help get him a front row starting spot in the $500 to win dash for cash. Dingwall will also return to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday as they resume with a regular racing program.

Dingwall’s recent string performances at Brockville have moved him up to third in the overall point standings at Brockville Speedway. His win, three top fives and eight top tens this season has put him just 39 points out of the lead in the battle for the 2012 Brockville championship. Dingwall is one of only two drivers to place in the top ten in every race at the BOS this season.
