Kyle Dingwall Eyes Brockville Speedway Championship Coming Down to Final Points Night This Saturday; Cornwall Season Finale on Sunday Night

With the final curtain coming down on the 2012 regular season this weekend, Kyle Dingwall finds himself locked in a battle for the Brockville Ontario Speedway Modified championship with just one final race remaining to decide the outcome of the coveted track title.  Only eight points separate Dingwall and the current leader, making Saturday night’s race at Brockville Speedway an epic battle as Kyle chases his first career Brockville Speedway Modified championship.

Saturday night at Brockville began with a second place finish in his qualifying heat race, and after a few adjustments to the car he was ready for the night’s 30 lap main event.  Kyle started the race from the eighth position, and struggled early on, falling outside the top ten.  Most of the race, Dingwall was fighting to get back inside the top ten, and with nine laps remaining he reached the tenth position.  He finished the race in ninth place.

“We really struggled tonight.  It was tough getting back into the top ten, but we were able to fight our way back”, says Dingwall.  “We will have to be better if we are going to contend for the championship.  We have had a great season, and hopefully we can finish it off with a win”.

Dingwall finished third in his qualifier at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday, and lined up 10th for the 30 lap main event later in the night.  It was a struggle early for Dingwall, and his troubles increased as he brought out the caution on lap 18 and reported to the pits for repairs.  He returned to the track a couple laps down and finished with a disappointing 17th place finish.

This coming week will be huge for the Dingwall Motorsports team.   The championship is up for grabs at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and Sunday night at Cornwall is a 125 lap Canadian Nationals/DIRTcar 358 Modified Series main event.  Kyle currently sits fifth in track points at Cornwall, and is tied for fourth in the Canadian Nationals Series point standings as they enter the final night of the season at Cornwall.

Kyle Dingwall Gets Third Place Finish in Canadian Nationals Series Round Two; Another Top Five Finish at Brockville Speedway

The 2012 season continues to be a great one for Kyle Dingwall and his Dingwall Motorsports team.  He scored an impressive third place run at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday in the 100 lap Canadian Nationals Series, and posted another solid run at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night with yet another third place finish.

Dingwall started Saturday night off with a win in his qualifying heat after taking the lead in the opening laps from his fourth place starting spot.  In the 30 lap feature, he started from sixth place and quickly made it to the top five.  By halfway, he was running strong in third place, and maintained that spot over the final 15 laps.  Dingwall is currently second in points at Brockville Speedway, just 33 points out of the lead in the battle for the 2012 championship with just two points races remaining.

The Canadian Nationals Series resumed on Sunday night at Cornwall Speedway after getting postponed from their original August 5th date.  Kyle posted the fastest time in his qualifying group, and started his heat race from the pole position.  His second place finish locked him into the 100 lap main event, and earned a spot in the all-important redraw for a top 12 starting spot.  Just before the feature, the redraw took place and Dingwall selected position number two and started from the outside of the front row.  He ran a strong race, battling within the top five all night, and with just 30 lap remaining he was in second place.  Over the final few laps, he was running third, and crossed the finish line in that spot, earning a podium finish.  Kyle is just 20 points behind the leader in the battle for the 2012 Cornwall Speedway championship.

This coming Sunday, Dingwall will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and then on to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday for their final regular night of 2012 before their season 125 lap season finale on Labor Day Weekend.

With the final night of the 2012 regular season quickly approaching, Kyle Dingwall and the Dingwall Motorsports team are looking to step it up a notch over the final three weeks, and get back to victory lane at Brockville, and grab their first win of the season at Cornwall before the curtain closes on an outstanding regular season.

Kyle Dingwall Battles Back From Lap One Crash to Score Top Five Finish at Brockville Speedway on Double Points Night

With double laps, double purse and double points on the line at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, Kyle Dingwall has hoping for another solid finish at the BOS.  His consistent finishes in 2012 leaves him as the only driver to finish in the top ten each week, and for any shot at the 2012 BOS championship, he would have to continue that streak with double points up for grabs.  Dingwall also had a 100 lap Canadian Nationals Series race at Cornwall Motor Speedway on his weekend agenda as well.

In his qualifying heat race at Brockville, Kyle started from fifth place, but would only advance one position to finish fourth.  He returned to the pit area and made some adjustment to the car hoping to get it dialed in for the night’s 60 lap feature.  Kyle rolled off the starting grid from 12th place, and at the drop of the green flag, problems developed at the front of the pack, bottling up the rest of the field.  Kyle had damage to the right front of his car and would have to return to the pits under caution for repairs.  After quick work by Dingwall’s crew, he was back out on the track in time for the restart, and would have to come from the rear of the field.  A couple more early cautions helped Dingwall, and by lap 16 he was back inside the top ten.  Kyle remained patient with plenty of laps remaining.  With 40 laps complete, he was starting to move forward, he was up to seventh and looking for more.  Over the final the next few laps he moved into sixth and took over the fifth spot with only four laps remaining.

“It was a hard fought top five finish tonight.  After getting into that wreck on lap one, I wasn’t sure where we were going to end up”, says Dingwall.  “It wasn’t looking very good, but we were able to fight our way back”.

At Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night, Kyle was ready for battle in the 100 lap Canadian Nationals Series event.  However, a late afternoon downpour forced track officials to postpone the second round of the series until Sunday, August 19th

His fifth place finish at Brockville puts him third in points in the battle for the 2012 Modified championship.  He is just three points out of second place, and 44 points out of the lead.  With the rainout at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday, Dingwall remains fifth in points, only 18 out of the lead.

Kyle Dingwall Focuses on Track Championships With One Month Remaining in Regular Season; Double Points Night at the BOS Coming Up

The consistency that Kyle Dingwall has shown throughout the 2012 season has been remarkable, and that continued through this past weekend, as Dingwall posted another pair of top ten finishes.  He enters the final full month of the season in second place in points at Brockville Speedway, and remains in contention at Cornwall Speedway as well.

First up on the weekend schedule was the usual Saturday night events at Brockville Speedway.  Kyle started his qualifying heat from the sixth position and quickly moved up through the field to place second.   In the 30 lap main event, he started from 15th place, and worked his way toward the front early, despite several cautions that slowed the pace as they approached lap ten.  When the race finally got going again, Dingwall moved up through the pack, and was showing in ninth place as the race hit the halfway point.  By lap 20, Kyle moved up one more spot to eighth and continued to advance of the final ten laps to finish with a solid sixth place run.

Cornwall was up next on Sunday night, as the Modifieds shared the spotlight with the inaugural visit by the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.  Dingwall finished third in his qualifying heat race, and after making some adjustments to the car, he rolled off the starting grid from inside the fifth row in ninth place.  Dingwall remained inside the top ten throughout the 30 lap race, and crossed the line with a tenth place finish.

Dingwall is currently second place in points at Brockville Speedway going into the month of August.  He has two wins, four top fives and 12 top ten finishes in 12 events so far this season at the BOS.  He is just 14 points out of first place in the battle for the coveted championship.  At Cornwall, Dingwall is fifth in points, but remains very much in contention as he sits just 18 points behind the leader.  Dingwall has nine starts at Cornwall this year with a pair of top five finishes, and seven top ten finishes this season.

This coming weekend will be pivotal in shaping the chase for the championship at Brockville Speedway as they host the Bob FM – Coca Cola Triple Double.  This will consist of double laps, double purse, and double points on Saturday night.  On Sunday, Dingwall will return to Cornwall Motor Speedway for a 100 lap Canadian Nationals Series race.
