Kyle Dingwall Eyes Brockville Speedway Championship Coming Down to Final Points Night This Saturday; Cornwall Season Finale on Sunday Night

With the final curtain coming down on the 2012 regular season this weekend, Kyle Dingwall finds himself locked in a battle for the Brockville Ontario Speedway Modified championship with just one final race remaining to decide the outcome of the coveted track title.  Only eight points separate Dingwall and the current leader, making Saturday night’s race at Brockville Speedway an epic battle as Kyle chases his first career Brockville Speedway Modified championship.

Saturday night at Brockville began with a second place finish in his qualifying heat race, and after a few adjustments to the car he was ready for the night’s 30 lap main event.  Kyle started the race from the eighth position, and struggled early on, falling outside the top ten.  Most of the race, Dingwall was fighting to get back inside the top ten, and with nine laps remaining he reached the tenth position.  He finished the race in ninth place.

“We really struggled tonight.  It was tough getting back into the top ten, but we were able to fight our way back”, says Dingwall.  “We will have to be better if we are going to contend for the championship.  We have had a great season, and hopefully we can finish it off with a win”.

Dingwall finished third in his qualifier at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday, and lined up 10th for the 30 lap main event later in the night.  It was a struggle early for Dingwall, and his troubles increased as he brought out the caution on lap 18 and reported to the pits for repairs.  He returned to the track a couple laps down and finished with a disappointing 17th place finish.

This coming week will be huge for the Dingwall Motorsports team.   The championship is up for grabs at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and Sunday night at Cornwall is a 125 lap Canadian Nationals/DIRTcar 358 Modified Series main event.  Kyle currently sits fifth in track points at Cornwall, and is tied for fourth in the Canadian Nationals Series point standings as they enter the final night of the season at Cornwall.
