Kyle Dingwall Continues Streak of Top Ten Finishes; Looking to Capture First Win of 2012 Season

Although consistency is the key to winning championships, Kyle Dingwall is looking for just a little more out of his 2012 Bicknell.  He has had several solid finishes in row going into the weekend, but he was looking to turn some of them top tens into top fives this weekend with events at Brockville Speedway on Saturday and Cornwall Speedway on Sunday.

At Brockville on Saturday night, Dingwall started his qualifying heat race from fifth place, and advanced just one position to fourth before the checkered flag.  The team made some adjustments to the car before lining up for the 30 lap main event.  In the feature, Kyle started from outside of row five in the tenth position.  By lap ten, he moved into the top five, but as the race progressed, the handling starting to go away, and he fell back to seventh at the finish.

Cornwall Speedway was the next stop on the weekend, and once again Dingwall would have to come from near the back of the pack in the qualifying heat.  He advanced to fifth place by the end of the 10 lap heat.  In the 30 lap main event, Dingwall fired from the tenth position and again made some progress in the opening laps, advancing to seventh, and he maintained that spot through halfway.  At the checkered flag, Dingwall crossed the line in eighth place.

As the summer officially approaches this week, and the point standings begin to take shape, Dingwall currently sits eighth in points at Brockville, just eight points outside the elusive top five.  At Cornwall Speedway, Kyle is in fourth place in track points, and only a few points out of third.  The battle at both tracks will be fierce over the next couple months as the track championships will surely come right down to the final week of the season in the ultra-competitive Modified division at both tracks.

This coming week, Dingwall will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and then off to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday as the Modified division shares the stage with the invading World of Outlaw Late Models as they make their return to Cornwall after a one year hiatus.
