Kyle Dingwall 2012 Season in Review; Brockville Speedway 358 Modified Championship and a Pair of Feature Wins Top Dingwall’s Season

The 2012 racing season was a year of consistency for Kyle Dingwall.  After struggling the past few seasons he was back in 2012 with a brand new car and looking to get back on track.  He raced at Brockville and Cornwall Speedway weekly in 2012 and was a contender all season long at both places.

At Brockville Speedway, Dingwall was the only driver to end the season with top ten finishes in every race.  His two feature wins, combined with nine top fives and18 top tens in 18 starts at the track were enough to earn his first championship at Brockville Speedway since winning the Sportsman championship back in 2004.  The championship didn’t come easy, ending with just a two point advantage over the second place competitor.

Kyle had a solid season at Cornwall Speedway as well, posting several great finishes along the way.  He ended the season sixth overall in track points and finished sixth in the Canadian Nationals Series also.  He ended the season with two second place finishes and two third place finishes during the season.

“We had a great season.  After struggling the last few years, it has been frustrating at times, but to win the championship at Brockville with such a tough field of cars really makes it worthwhile”, says Dingwall.  “I really have to thank everyone that helps us out and supports us along the way”.

With the 2012 season now over, Kyle and the Dingwall Motorsports team are already looking ahead to 2013 and trying to make their program even better.  When the new season starts in May, Dingwall will be there ready to defend his track title at Brockville, and will be looking to match that accomplishment at Cornwall.

Kyle Dingwall Ends 2012 Season With Top Five Finish in Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series Race at Brockville Speedway

After a terrific 2012 regular season at Brockville Speedway, Kyle Dingwall returned to the track for one final time this season as they hosted the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals. Kyle raced on Saturday afternoon with the Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series. Dingwall was hoping for some home track advantage against some of the best Modified teams throughout the Northeast.

The 2012 Brockville Speedway champion started the day off well, timing fifth quick overall in time trials, placing him up front to start his qualifying heat race. Dingwall backed that up with a win, earning him a spot in the redraw for a top 10 starting spot in the 100 lap main event. Dingwall would draw the fifth starting spot and lined up on the inside of row three to start the race. In typical Dingwall fashion Kyle was consistent all race long, hovering in or near the top five. Tire wear became an issue in the closing laps, which brought out the caution several times during the final 10 laps, but Dingwall maintained his strong performance and ended the afternoon with a very solid fourth place finish.

“It was a good way to end the 2012 season”, says Dingwall after the race. “Of course, we would have liked to finished higher, but to finish in the top five behind guys like Danny Johnson and Billy Dunn is pretty big. I am really looking forward to coming back even stronger in 2013”.

This puts a wrap on the 2012 racing season for Dingwall Motorsports. Stay tuned to our website for any off-season news regarding our team. We look forward to seeing you all next year at the track.

Kyle Dingwall Scores Second Consecutive Top Ten Finish in Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series; Super DIRT Week is Next for Dingwall Motorsports

After grabbing a 10th place finish last weekend at Mohawk International Raceway, Kyle Dingwall was looking forward to racing the next round of the Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series as they made their inaugural appearance at Brighton Speedway during the track’s annual Applefest Weekend.  Although the 358 Modified division only races at the track once a year, Dingwall is very comfortable at the track, being one of only a handful of past winners at the track that entered this years race.  Dingwall won at Brighton in the very first Applefest Shootout back in September of 2005.

Dingwall began the night with a fifth place time trial speed in his group, placing him fifth to start his qualifying heat race.  Dingwall maintained that position throughout the race.  In the Benson’s Auto Parts 100 lap Applefest Shootout 358 Modified Mr. DIRTcar Series race, Dingwall started from the 15th position.  Avoiding a lap one crash, Dingwall patiently waited to make his move towards the front of the pack.  By lap 85 he was inside the top 10, and when the final caution on the night came two laps later, he had moved to ninth. When the race resumed Dingwall was able to pick up one more spot to finish with a strong eighth place result.

Dingwall will have the weekend off this week, and return to action next week as the Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series races at Cayuga County Fair Speedway on Wednesday, October 3rd and Rolling Wheels Raceway Park on Thursday, October 4th during Super DIRT Week.  The 2012 season will conclude at Brockville Speedway during the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals on October 13th and 14th.

Kyle Dingwall Gets Top 10 Finish in Mr. DIRTcar 358 Series Race at Mohawk International Raceway; Brighton Speedway Coming up Next

After a fantastic 2012 racing at Brockville Speedway and Cornwall Speedway weekly, Kyle Dingwall was looking forward to doing some traveling now that the regular season is over and he accomplished his goal of winning the 2012 Brockville Speedway track championship.  The first stop was Mohawk International Raceway on Saturday night for their 358 Modified Mr. DIRTcar Series race.

Kyle struggled in time trials, and finished his heat race in seventh place, putting him into the last change B-Main.  A fourth place finish put him into the race, but he would start from the rear of the 30 car field.  The dry slick track conditions made it tough to pass, but Dingwall patiently moved forward throughout the 75 lap race, and when the checkered flag flew, he was inside the top 10.

“It was a tough race, with no grip at all on the track”, says Dingwall.  “We saved our tires as much as possible and came home with at top ten finish”.

This coming weekend, Dingwall will be back in action at Brighton Speedway for their annual Applefest Weekend.  This year, the race is a 358 Modified Series race, and Kyle is looking forward to running with the Series again this week.

After Brighton, Kyle will have a week off, before heading to Syracuse to run the Super DIRT Week Satellite shows at Cayuga County Speedway and Rolling Wheels Raceway.  He will end the 2012 season at Brockville Speedway for the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals on October 13th and 14th.

Kyle Dingwall Crowned Brockville Speedway Track Champion After Second Place Finish at Brockville Speedway on Saturday Night

After a couple of really frustrating seasons for Kyle Dingwall, he has rebounded in a big way in 2012.  Entering the final night of the regular season at both Brockville and Cornwall Speedway, Dingwall had already captured two feature wins (at Brockville), and regardless of the outcome he would finish the year in the top five in points at both weekly tracks.  At Brockville, he entered the night with an eight point deficit, and was looking forward to the opportunity to race for his first ever BOS Speedway Modified title.

With a third place finish in his qualifying heat race at Brockville, Kyle trimmed a single point of his deficit, with the other championship contender finishing third in the next heat, the difference remained the same, and he would have to make up eight points in the battle for the championship going into the 30 lap main event.  Kyle lined up from the seventh position to start the feature, and quickly moved up through the field.  By lap ten, Kyle was up to third place, and while he was focused on his position on the track, he couldn’t help but wonder where the point leader was on the track.  When the race hit the halfway point, Dingwall was now up to second place, gaining four points as he battled his way towards the championship.  When the race ended, the suspense was building as Kyle wondered if his second place finish was enough to earn him the championship, and when the final totals were calculated, Kyle was the champion by just two points.

“The suspense at the end of the race waiting to hear if we won it or night was crazy”, admits Dingwall.  “I was trying to make the calculations, and I was looking at the scoreboard to make sure the 7 car wasn’t in the top five.  We really had a great season, and I have to thank everyone that has helped us along the way, all of our sponsors and the race fans that support us each week”.

With his first Brockville Speedway Modified championship secure, Dingwall began to prepare for Sunday night’s race at Cornwall Speedway.  It was a 125 lap 358 Modified DIRTcar Series/Canadian Nationals Series main event.  He qualified third fastest in his group in time trials, placing him on the inside of the second row for his heat race.  A second place finish put him into the redraw for a top 12 starting spot in the big race.  He selected position number two, and would fire from the outside of the front row.  After jumping out to the early lead, Kyle would fall to second on a lap 15 restart.  He would remain in the top five for most of the first segment, and when the race was stopped at lap 75 for the competition caution he was running strong inside the top five.  When the race resumed Kyle continued to battle amongst the top five, running in the fifth position as the race hit lap 100.  Just a few laps later, Dingwall moved his car off the racing surface and out of harm’s way when the drive shaft broke.

“We were having a really good run tonight, but the drive shaft broke just after the lap 100 mark”, says Dingwall after the race.  “It would have been great to finish out the season here at Cornwall on a better note, but overall we have had a great year, and we look forward to running some different tracks throughout the fall”.

Dingwall will have this weekend off, and will return to action on Saturday, September 15th with the Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series at Mohawk Raceway.  The following weekend he will be at Brighton Speedway, and then on to the Cayuga County Fair Speedway in Weedsport, New York on Wednesday, October 3rd.  He will close out the 2012 season at Brockville Speedway on Saturday, October 13th with the 1000 Islands RV Centre DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals.

Kyle Dingwall Eyes Brockville Speedway Championship Coming Down to Final Points Night This Saturday; Cornwall Season Finale on Sunday Night

With the final curtain coming down on the 2012 regular season this weekend, Kyle Dingwall finds himself locked in a battle for the Brockville Ontario Speedway Modified championship with just one final race remaining to decide the outcome of the coveted track title.  Only eight points separate Dingwall and the current leader, making Saturday night’s race at Brockville Speedway an epic battle as Kyle chases his first career Brockville Speedway Modified championship.

Saturday night at Brockville began with a second place finish in his qualifying heat race, and after a few adjustments to the car he was ready for the night’s 30 lap main event.  Kyle started the race from the eighth position, and struggled early on, falling outside the top ten.  Most of the race, Dingwall was fighting to get back inside the top ten, and with nine laps remaining he reached the tenth position.  He finished the race in ninth place.

“We really struggled tonight.  It was tough getting back into the top ten, but we were able to fight our way back”, says Dingwall.  “We will have to be better if we are going to contend for the championship.  We have had a great season, and hopefully we can finish it off with a win”.

Dingwall finished third in his qualifier at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday, and lined up 10th for the 30 lap main event later in the night.  It was a struggle early for Dingwall, and his troubles increased as he brought out the caution on lap 18 and reported to the pits for repairs.  He returned to the track a couple laps down and finished with a disappointing 17th place finish.

This coming week will be huge for the Dingwall Motorsports team.   The championship is up for grabs at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and Sunday night at Cornwall is a 125 lap Canadian Nationals/DIRTcar 358 Modified Series main event.  Kyle currently sits fifth in track points at Cornwall, and is tied for fourth in the Canadian Nationals Series point standings as they enter the final night of the season at Cornwall.

Kyle Dingwall Gets Third Place Finish in Canadian Nationals Series Round Two; Another Top Five Finish at Brockville Speedway

The 2012 season continues to be a great one for Kyle Dingwall and his Dingwall Motorsports team.  He scored an impressive third place run at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday in the 100 lap Canadian Nationals Series, and posted another solid run at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night with yet another third place finish.

Dingwall started Saturday night off with a win in his qualifying heat after taking the lead in the opening laps from his fourth place starting spot.  In the 30 lap feature, he started from sixth place and quickly made it to the top five.  By halfway, he was running strong in third place, and maintained that spot over the final 15 laps.  Dingwall is currently second in points at Brockville Speedway, just 33 points out of the lead in the battle for the 2012 championship with just two points races remaining.

The Canadian Nationals Series resumed on Sunday night at Cornwall Speedway after getting postponed from their original August 5th date.  Kyle posted the fastest time in his qualifying group, and started his heat race from the pole position.  His second place finish locked him into the 100 lap main event, and earned a spot in the all-important redraw for a top 12 starting spot.  Just before the feature, the redraw took place and Dingwall selected position number two and started from the outside of the front row.  He ran a strong race, battling within the top five all night, and with just 30 lap remaining he was in second place.  Over the final few laps, he was running third, and crossed the finish line in that spot, earning a podium finish.  Kyle is just 20 points behind the leader in the battle for the 2012 Cornwall Speedway championship.

This coming Sunday, Dingwall will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and then on to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday for their final regular night of 2012 before their season 125 lap season finale on Labor Day Weekend.

Kyle Dingwall Gets Top Five Finishes at Brockville and Cornwall Speedway; 100 Lap Canadian Nationals Series Race Coming up This Week

With the final night of the 2012 regular season quickly approaching, Kyle Dingwall and the Dingwall Motorsports team are looking to step it up a notch over the final three weeks, and get back to victory lane at Brockville, and grab their first win of the season at Cornwall before the curtain closes on an outstanding regular season.

This past weekend, Dingwall was fast at both Brockville and Cornwall and ended the weekend with top five finishes at both tracks after impressive performances.  Dingwall moved back into second in 358 Modified points at Brockville with his fourth place finish on Saturday night, and moved into third in points at Cornwall Speedway within striking distance of the leader after a third place finish on Sunday night.

“We are having a good season, and hopefully we can cap that off with a championship.  We are behind by a fair bit at Brockville, but we are very much in contention at Cornwall”, says Dingwall.  “A win would definitely help our chances, we will be working hard to achieve that over the next couple weeks”.

Kyle Dingwall Battles Back From Lap One Crash to Score Top Five Finish at Brockville Speedway on Double Points Night

With double laps, double purse and double points on the line at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, Kyle Dingwall has hoping for another solid finish at the BOS.  His consistent finishes in 2012 leaves him as the only driver to finish in the top ten each week, and for any shot at the 2012 BOS championship, he would have to continue that streak with double points up for grabs.  Dingwall also had a 100 lap Canadian Nationals Series race at Cornwall Motor Speedway on his weekend agenda as well.

In his qualifying heat race at Brockville, Kyle started from fifth place, but would only advance one position to finish fourth.  He returned to the pit area and made some adjustment to the car hoping to get it dialed in for the night’s 60 lap feature.  Kyle rolled off the starting grid from 12th place, and at the drop of the green flag, problems developed at the front of the pack, bottling up the rest of the field.  Kyle had damage to the right front of his car and would have to return to the pits under caution for repairs.  After quick work by Dingwall’s crew, he was back out on the track in time for the restart, and would have to come from the rear of the field.  A couple more early cautions helped Dingwall, and by lap 16 he was back inside the top ten.  Kyle remained patient with plenty of laps remaining.  With 40 laps complete, he was starting to move forward, he was up to seventh and looking for more.  Over the final the next few laps he moved into sixth and took over the fifth spot with only four laps remaining.

“It was a hard fought top five finish tonight.  After getting into that wreck on lap one, I wasn’t sure where we were going to end up”, says Dingwall.  “It wasn’t looking very good, but we were able to fight our way back”.

At Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night, Kyle was ready for battle in the 100 lap Canadian Nationals Series event.  However, a late afternoon downpour forced track officials to postpone the second round of the series until Sunday, August 19th

His fifth place finish at Brockville puts him third in points in the battle for the 2012 Modified championship.  He is just three points out of second place, and 44 points out of the lead.  With the rainout at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday, Dingwall remains fifth in points, only 18 out of the lead.

Kyle Dingwall would like to thank all of his sponsors for the 2012 racing season.  They include King Edward Auto Parts, McHaffie Flea Market, B&M Mechanical, C Double J Harvesting, Eastern Ontario Millwritting, Black Dog Lubricants, Toy Storage, D.L. Kyle Dingwall Focuses on Track Championships With One Month Remaining in Regular Season; Double Points Night at the BOS Coming Up

The consistency that Kyle Dingwall has shown throughout the 2012 season has been remarkable, and that continued through this past weekend, as Dingwall posted another pair of top ten finishes.  He enters the final full month of the season in second place in points at Brockville Speedway, and remains in contention at Cornwall Speedway as well.

First up on the weekend schedule was the usual Saturday night events at Brockville Speedway.  Kyle started his qualifying heat from the sixth position and quickly moved up through the field to place second.   In the 30 lap main event, he started from 15th place, and worked his way toward the front early, despite several cautions that slowed the pace as they approached lap ten.  When the race finally got going again, Dingwall moved up through the pack, and was showing in ninth place as the race hit the halfway point.  By lap 20, Kyle moved up one more spot to eighth and continued to advance of the final ten laps to finish with a solid sixth place run.

Cornwall was up next on Sunday night, as the Modifieds shared the spotlight with the inaugural visit by the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.  Dingwall finished third in his qualifying heat race, and after making some adjustments to the car, he rolled off the starting grid from inside the fifth row in ninth place.  Dingwall remained inside the top ten throughout the 30 lap race, and crossed the line with a tenth place finish.

Dingwall is currently second place in points at Brockville Speedway going into the month of August.  He has two wins, four top fives and 12 top ten finishes in 12 events so far this season at the BOS.  He is just 14 points out of first place in the battle for the coveted championship.  At Cornwall, Dingwall is fifth in points, but remains very much in contention as he sits just 18 points behind the leader.  Dingwall has nine starts at Cornwall this year with a pair of top five finishes, and seven top ten finishes this season.

This coming weekend will be pivotal in shaping the chase for the championship at Brockville Speedway as they host the Bob FM – Coca Cola Triple Double.  This will consist of double laps, double purse, and double points on Saturday night.  On Sunday, Dingwall will return to Cornwall Motor Speedway for a 100 lap Canadian Nationals Series race.

Kyle Dingwall Gets Second Win of 2012 Season at Brockville Speedway

The 2012 racing season has been a good season so far for Kyle Dingwall and the Dingwall Motorsports team.  The results have been consistent all year long at both Brockville Speedway and Cornwall Speedway, and Dingwall has now posted two feature wins at the BOS in his 2012 Bicknell car.  He also posted a sixth place finish on Sunday night at Cornwall Speedway.

At Brockville on Saturday night, Kyle started his qualifying heat from outside of row two in fourth place.  He quick moved forward, taking the lead before they completed lap two and went on to take the win.  In the 30 lap main event, Kyle started from ninth place, and struggled early, dropping to as low as 13th before finding the fast way around the BOS.  Kyle avoiding a pair of early incidents, and would get up to sixth as the race restarted on lap 10.  With the race half over, Dingwall had climbed to second, and would make the winning pass just two laps later.  A late race restart set the stage for a final shootout, but Kyle would go unchallenged as he picked up his second win of the season.

“We didn’t get off to a very good start, but the car really came to life after a few laps and we were really strong at the end”, says Dingwall.  “I have to thank the crew, our sponsors and all of our fans for their support.  We had a couple tough seasons, and if feels great to be back running well consistently”.

Cornwall Speedway was up next and Dingwall finished third in his qualifying event.  In the 30 lap main event, Kyle started from ninth, and maintained that spot for much of the first half of the race.  Kyle would advance to sixth over the second half of the event, to score his 17th top ten finish in 19 races this season.

Kyle is currently second in points at Brockville Speedway and tied for third in points at Cornwall Speedway.  He will be back at both tracks again this weekend looking to inch closer to the coveted track championship at both tracks.

Kyle Dingwall Scores 10th Consecutive Top Ten Finish at Brockville Speedway; Another Strong Finish at Cornwall

The 2012 racing season has been all about consistency for Kyle Dingwall.  Going into the weekend, Kyle was the only driver to score a top ten finish in every race this season, and also had an impressive record of top ten finishes at Cornwall Speedway as well, with his only finishes outside of the top ten coming in a Big Block Series race on July 1st, and the season opening 100 lap tour race on May 20th.

Dingwall was back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night looking to continue his consistency, and more importantly, getting back to victory lane.  In his qualifying heat, Kyle started sixth, and worked his way up to third.  After the heats were over, Dingwall and his fellow competitors took to the track for the popular driver autograph session, and once that concluded, he was ready for the 30 lap main event.  Starting from 14th, Kyle avoided major damage after getting involved in a seven car crash on the opening lap of the race.  On the restart, he was able to continue and steadily moved forward, and by lap six he was inside the top ten.  Throughout the race, Kyle stood his ground, and crossed the line with a seventh place finish.  After ten events this season at Brockville, Kyle is tied for second in points, only 28 points out of the lead in the battle for the Brockville championship.

Next up was Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night.  After finishing third in his qualifying heat, Dingwall made some adjustment to the car before the 30 lap feature.  He rolled off the starting grid from 16th place, and steadily worked his way through the field.  By the end of the race, Kyle made it up to sixth place.  Dingwall is currently fourth in points, just 14 points out of the lead as he battles for the Cornwall title.  Dingwall is a past Cornwall champion, taking the title back in 2006 and again in 2009.

This coming week, Dingwall will continue the weekly routine, with events at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and then back to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night.

Kyle Dingwall Continues Top Ten Streak at Brockville Speedway; Impressive at Cornwall With Second Place Finish

With the 2012 season now halfway complete, Kyle Dingwall continues to run strong. His top ten finish at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night puts him in second in points in the competitive 358 Modified division, and is the only driver to score a top ten in every race this season at the BOS. A second place finish at Cornwall Speedway has him fourth in points, just two back of second place, and only 26 out of first place.

Kyle’s weekend began at Brockville Speedway. After a fourth place finish in his qualifying heat race, Dingwall made a few adjustments on the car, hoping for a solid run in the 30 lap feature. The track conditions made passing a premium, and Dingwall was only able to climb to seventh place before the checkered flag.

The action moved to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night. Dingwall began the night with his qualifying heat race and finished in second. In the 30 lap main event, Dingwall started from inside row two in third place, and patiently bided his time. With ten laps complete, he was up to second place, and maintained that spot through the finish.

This coming week, Dingwall will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night. During intermission, Kyle, along with his fellow competitors will be available on the track for the popular family autograph session, where he will meet with fans and sign autographs. On Sunday night, he will be back at Cornwall Motor Speedway.

Kyle Dingwall Gets Top Five Finish at Brockville; Caught up in Early Race Incident at Cornwall Speedway’s Super DIRTcar Series Race

Fresh off his impressive win at Brockville Speedway just one week ago, Kyle Dingwall was anxious to get back to the track once again this week. The continued hot and humid temperatures would make for similar track conditions as last week, and Dingwall is always fast on the dry and slick racing surface. Dingwall was also looking forward to racing at Cornwall on Sunday as the Big Block Modifieds made their only visit of the season with their Super DIRTcar Series race.

After a third place finish in his qualifying heat race at Brockville, Kyle and his team began to prepare for the 30 lap main event. He started the race from outside of the seventh row in 14th place and quickly moved forward. By lap eight he was inside the top ten, and continued to advance through the field. With 18 laps complete, Kyle was in the top five and moved up one more position to fourth in the closing laps.

At Cornwall Speedway on Sunday, Dingwall struggled early against the Big Blocks, and was forced to qualify through the last chance B-main. Dingwall had his car working much better, taking the checkered flag in the 10 lap race. Starting from 19th, Kyle hoped that as the race went on his car would continue to get faster, but on lap 15 his night would end early with heavy front end damage after getting caught up in a wreck.

This coming weekend, Dingwall will return to Brockville Speedway on Saturday looking to get back to victory lane once again. He will also compete in a dash for cash on Saturday after the heat races. The 10 lap race will be lined up in order of votes on the Brockville Speedway website. We encourage everyone to go to brockvillespeedway.com to place your vote for Kyle Dingwall and help get him a front row starting spot in the $500 to win dash for cash. Dingwall will also return to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday as they resume with a regular racing program.

Dingwall’s recent string performances at Brockville have moved him up to third in the overall point standings at Brockville Speedway. His win, three top fives and eight top tens this season has put him just 39 points out of the lead in the battle for the 2012 Brockville championship. Dingwall is one of only two drivers to place in the top ten in every race at the BOS this season.

Kyle Dingwall Returns to Brockville Speedway Victory Lane After Dominating Performance Saturday Night. Cornwall Speedway Falls to Rain

Over the past four seasons, Kyle Dingwall has struggled to find the on track success that he had been accustomed to throughout his racing career.  Bad Luck and just being at the wrong place at the wrong time had a lot to do with that, and lack of funding also played a contributing role.  2012 is a new year thought, and it has been a good start for Dingwall, as he has shown significant improvement in his racing program with great sponsors, a strong team and a brand new 2012 Bicknell car.

This past weekend, Dingwall had the usual events on his schedule beginning with Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, Cornwall Speedway on Sunday.

At Brockville, Dingwall began the evening by winning his qualifying heat, giving the team confidence going into the 30 lap main event.  Starting from inside the second row in the third position, Dingwall quickly moved into second.  For the first ten laps he pressured the leader waiting patiently for an opportunity to grab the top spot, and made the winning pass before they completed lap 11.  The first and only caution of the race came on lap 15, but Dingwall was able to pull away from the field, collecting his first win of the 2012 season, and first since May 31st, 2008.

“It has been a long time coming”, says Dingwall in victory lane.  “I really have to thank the crew, and everyone that helps us out.  I also want to thank our sponsors that have supported us this season, as well as the race fans”.

Looking to make it two in row, Dingwall planned to race at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night in conjunction with the World of Outlaw Late Model Series.  A late afternoon rain forced track officials to cancel the night’s events.

This coming weekend, Dingwall will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and then off to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday as the Big Block Modifieds make their only visit of the season with the Super DIRTcar Series.  Dingwall currently sits third in points at Brockville, and fourth in points at Cornwall.

Kyle Dingwall Continues Streak of Top Ten Finishes; Looking to Capture First Win of 2012 Season

Although consistency is the key to winning championships, Kyle Dingwall is looking for just a little more out of his 2012 Bicknell.  He has had several solid finishes in row going into the weekend, but he was looking to turn some of them top tens into top fives this weekend with events at Brockville Speedway on Saturday and Cornwall Speedway on Sunday.

At Brockville on Saturday night, Dingwall started his qualifying heat race from fifth place, and advanced just one position to fourth before the checkered flag.  The team made some adjustments to the car before lining up for the 30 lap main event.  In the feature, Kyle started from outside of row five in the tenth position.  By lap ten, he moved into the top five, but as the race progressed, the handling starting to go away, and he fell back to seventh at the finish.

Cornwall Speedway was the next stop on the weekend, and once again Dingwall would have to come from near the back of the pack in the qualifying heat.  He advanced to fifth place by the end of the 10 lap heat.  In the 30 lap main event, Dingwall fired from the tenth position and again made some progress in the opening laps, advancing to seventh, and he maintained that spot through halfway.  At the checkered flag, Dingwall crossed the line in eighth place.

As the summer officially approaches this week, and the point standings begin to take shape, Dingwall currently sits eighth in points at Brockville, just eight points outside the elusive top five.  At Cornwall Speedway, Kyle is in fourth place in track points, and only a few points out of third.  The battle at both tracks will be fierce over the next couple months as the track championships will surely come right down to the final week of the season in the ultra-competitive Modified division at both tracks.

This coming week, Dingwall will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and then off to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday as the Modified division shares the stage with the invading World of Outlaw Late Models as they make their return to Cornwall after a one year hiatus.

Kyle Dingwall Gets Top Ten Finishes at Brockville and Cornwall Speedway

Although the finishes aren’t quite what Kyle Dingwall would like, 2012 has certainly been a year of consistency for Dingwall, scoring top ten finishes in every race but one so far this season.  Dingwall, who had a season best second place finish at both Brockville Speedway and Cornwall Speedway just two weeks ago has had been able to run inside the top ten in a very competitive division virtually every night.

Dingwall was at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, and after a fourth place run in his qualifier, he and the team made some adjustments on the car before the 30 lap main event.  Staring from ninth, Dingwall faded to 12th early, but climbed his way back into the top ten at lap 13.  Over the second half of the race, Dingwall advanced to eighth place, scoring his fifth starting top ten finish to start the season at Brockville.  He is currently seventh in points, only ten points out of the top five.

On Sunday night, Dingwall returned to Cornwall Speedway after last weekend’s rainout.  Dingwall started fourth in his preliminary qualifying heat race, and finished in the same spot.  The team made some adjustments on the car before the 30 lap feature and started from inside of the sixth row in 11th place.  Much like the previous night at Brockville, Dingwall battled handling issues, and ended the night with a ninth place finish.  Dingwall is currently tied for third in track points at Cornwall in a very tight points battle early in the 2012 season.

This coming week, Dingwall will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night and Cornwall Speedway on Sunday.  He will be looking to capture his first win of the 2012 season at both tracks.

Kyle Dingwall Gets Top Ten Finish in Wild Night at Brockville Speedway; Cornwall Speedway Rained Out

After scoring back to back second place finishes last weekend, Kyle Dingwall and the Dingwall Motorsports team were looking forward to getting back to the track this week hoping to pick up their first win of the 2012 season.  Dingwall planned to race at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night and Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday, but Mother Nature would shorten their weekend schedule.

At Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, the track conditions were less then favorable with all the rain from the previous day, but racing went on as scheduled.  Kyle started his qualifying heat race from fifth place, and advanced to fourth before the finish.  After returning to the pit area, Dingwall and his team made some adjustments to the car in preparation for the 30 lap main event.  Starting from 11th place, Dingwall moved his way through the field early, but a series of yellow flags in the first ten laps of the race slowed his momentum early.  Dingwall would go on to finish the race in eighth place.

This coming week, he will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, looking to improve on his sixth place position in track points, and will return to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday evening where he is currently second in points.

Kyle Dingwall Gets Back to Back Second Place Finishes With Strong Performances at Brockville and Cornwall

With a pair of top ten finishes to start the year at Brockville, and a 14th place finish in the Mr. DIRTcar 358 Series race at Cornwall last week, Kyle Dingwall was looking to improve on that when he returned to the track this past weekend.  Once again, Brockville and Cornwall would be his destination of choice.

At Brockville Speedway on Saturday night, Dingwall started his eight lap qualifying heat race from fourth place, but struggled early, and crossed the finish line with a fifth place result.  After making some adjustments to the car before the 30 lap main event, Dingwall started from seventh place, and it was quickly determined that the changes were just what the car needed.   The first caution of the night came on lap six when the leader spun off turn four.  Dingwall, who had already moved into second inherited the lead.  On the restart, Dingwall continued to set the pace.  With 10 laps remaining, he was locked into a battle for the top spot, and when the final caution of the evening came on lap 22, it set up an eight lap duel to the finish.  On the ensuing restart, Dingwall would regain battle side by side for the lead, falling to second as they completed lap 24, but still a strong run, making his third consecutive top ten finish to start the season at Brockville.

Dingwall was back in action on Sunday at Cornwall Speedway.  As a former champion at the track in 2009, he always enjoys competing at the fast quarter mile.  In his qualifying heat, he would start from the sixth position and work his way up to fourth.  The team made some quick adjustment to get the car dialed in for the 30 lap feature.  Starting from eighth place, Dingwall worked his way forward, and when the first yellow was displayed at lap nine, he was up to sixth.  As the race approached halfway, Dingwall now positioned himself in fourth place, looking to chase down the lead group.  In the final 15 laps, Dingwall advanced to second and ended the weekend with a pair of runner up finishes.
